I love to search Pinterest for ideas to make quilts or sewn items.
The ideas that some quilters come up with are spectacular!
I have been loving the mug rug craze, even
though I don't drink coffee or use them at a desk I enjoy
making some versions of what I've seen.

This is one I've admired for quite awhile, I have saved this
photo several times in my quilt ideas folders. LOL!!!
Today I made my version.

I used the ROY B GIV order for the colors, but
I wasn't happy with my Indigo. So I left it out. I decided to use
it for the flower, which will have a button center when I'm done.
My tumbler pattern is bigger than the one in the inspiration so my
mug rug is bigger than the one shown. I guess it
will be a good thing as it can hold more cookies!

Thought I'd have to go to JoAnn's to get some grey quilting thread but
I found some in my stash! I fused the flower on and then did echo quilting.
Can't wait to see how it finishes up!
Maybe tomorrow!?!

Another inspiration mug rug is this one:

And here is mine:

I quilted this one the machine with a walking foot and the drag made the
pattern distort. I'm NOT happy with this and may make another, hand
quilting it. I wish I was able to machine quilt my items! I need someone  to
teach me how, and a winning lottery ticket to buy me a quilting machine!!!
